NF7-S is notoriious for overclocking, it's the best mobo for amd xp's, expecially for gaming. Contrats dude. I noticed how people like to shoot down amd XP's as if they were useless but they didnt seem to understand your situation and your question. 3200 is great lol. Donkey KOng Jr on low settings thats hilarious. With a 6600 GT that's gonna be sweeet dude. damn you're lucky. I have 500 Celeron and i should just blow my brains out. |

You've got a pretty good CPU there. I use one (except mine is just an OC'd 2500+) with a graphics card comparable to yours (9800 Pro) and it works great. I'm contemplating upgrading to an A64 3400+ because it looks like it'd be worth it.
But even with our similar rigs, I can say that it works really good, runs HL2 fairly well and CS Source does, too. You just might have to notch down a couple settings here and there.
As for the motherboard, I chose the top of the line Asus (best Athlon board ever made, not much debate about it) but yours will work great too. |

Get a MOBILE!!!! Its cheeper than a 3200+ and will overclock WELL past it. I've got the same board with a mobile 2600+ currently running at 2.4GHz. A 3200+ runs at 2.2GHz. |

#2: you're saying that a 3200+ can't OC 200MHz???
#3: mobile OCs are simply based on luck, I had trouble with mine and will never go mobile again.

Why don't you re-read my post and tell me where I said a 3200+ can't OC 200MHz... Further more, just like YOU weren't able to OC your mobile, there will be 3200+ that will not OC by 200MHz. And finally, I can gaurantee you that you are in the minority with your OCing success as far as mobile CPU's are concerned. |

Well I mean you can't compare CPUs based on how much they can OC, if you're gonna say that a mobile 2600+ can be OCed past 3200+ speeds (which requires some luck, and awsome cooling= $$$), then you also have to take into consideration how much the 3200+ can OC. You can't say that the 2600+ is a better CPU because it MIGHT OC past 3200+ speeds, I'm not saying it cannot, I'm saying it's a risk that involves luck and a little bit of extra $$$ I have RMA'd the CPU once and I've gotten the same results which leads me to the conclusion that my mobo absolutely sucks at OCing. |

budget is what matters man . if your not going to overclock then go with the highest rating cpu your budget can handle .
