Well I only OC because I'm an OCing addict, not for the (un)noticable performance gains, but just because I'm addicted to it.
You're all set for some extreme gaming ygpm

What about the 3000+ 400FSB OEM? How about the PSU that comes with the Thermaltake Soprano VB1430SWS? I was going to get a new case anyways. It's the silver one. It costs 89.99. I already have the Motherboard, opticals, hard drive, and possibly the sound card. However, does the Sound Blaster Live! LE eat CPU cycles or should go with the onboard audio. |

Also, should I get the 6600GT with the 128MB of GDDR3 or the 6600 256MB DDR? |

I guess I'll stay with the Athlon 3000+ CPU. But, what fan should I get? And, should I get a x700 or something other than the MSI 6600GT? |

When will everybody learn that you do not need more than 128MB for any game that's out there today. Even if you quadruple the RAM to 512MB and put it on the 6600, it might be even slower than a 128MB 6600, because the RAM clock is too low for the card to take advantage of all the RAM, thus the extra RAM in gaming is useless and the 6600GT would smoke a 256MB 6600. A vanilla x700 sucks, and it should be your last choice, as it is slightly slower than the 6600. |

As I had thought, but, you never know. But, which fan? Preferably by Zalman or Thermaltake. WOuld like LED, but it doesn't matter much. And, how about the PSU.

There are plenty of benchies that show how badly the 6600GT pwns the vanilla 6600 in every single aspect possible.
This is the best PSU I would recommend for under 50 bucks (for a power user/gamer that is) http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProduc...101-513&depa=1 it has LEDs You mean which HSF for the CPU?? |
