Going with a decent A64 3000+ and a board would cost you approx. $220. Not much of a difference in price, but performance, definitely.

MoBo

CPU

i totally agree... athlon 64s are way better

epower=Fortron, right? And, yes, the HSF is what I'm looking for. But, what about the PSU in that VB1430SWS case? It has 24-pin, so it should power my computer. Or, should I buy something else?

I found the PSU. It's a part of the TR line. It has support for PCI-E and it's rated at 430 watts. It could power a relatively small socket 939 system, couldn't, like the one I had posted?

Says who? I run Doom 3 on Ultra and FarCry on its max settings (trilinear, water on max, environment on max, etc) and I experience no problems at all. HL2 on its max settings as well and no problems, if you would like I can give you screenies.

Maybe you thought that when I said "all" I meant all at the same time?

epower=tagan

Most people would recommend getting a thermalright XP 90, 92, or 120 and then slapping a fan of your choice onto it.

I have no idea what PSU you're talking about, a link would help

say the benchies, you cannot run any of those games maxed out all the way (INCLUDING THE RESOLUTION)

you could probably max it out at 1024x768 tops, but nothing above that would give you good, solid, and stable frame rates.

well if you consider the max resolution 1600x1280 then my bro's comp (has specs in sigs) has been there and done that and handled it smoothly.

With the FX and a x800pro OCed/modder or whatever you did to it to make it an XT (PE?) there's no doubt that it can play all games at 1600x1200

thats why i responded with my bro's specs being able to run it over that reso and settings, but i did not realize it you were aiming at battle toad, and not just video card benchies
