    Registered ram question

Ok i recently got a gig of kingston value ram from a friend for free ( cause it wouldnt work in his comp) i had 512 before this and i thought it was a steal so i put it in my machine everything seems to run fine, but then i looked up the ram and its registered. my comp is not that expensive but hand built. My question is will i run into problems down the line or should i be fine?

Yep. It shouldn't boot, or POST for that matter, if the RAM is incompatible.
