| Patriot 1mb stick (2-3-2-5)
I may decide to buy an a8n - Sli deluxe from Asus but I'm wondering about the ram for it because people say it's picky. My general question is are 1gb sticks better than 2x512? There is a pretty nice Patriot (although im skeptical of brand) 1gb stick with cas 2-3-2-5 for 114$ on newegg. Considering what I've read from the kind of memory this mobo likes it apparently likes Corsair and doesn't mention anything about OCZ, which is the brand i wanted to buy (the copper heatspreader OCZ with cas 2-3-3-6). The Corsair ram I was considering is also cas 2-3-3-6 (Corsair XMS) and both are about 120$ for 2x512. What would be a better buy the corsair/ocz sticks or the 1mb stick of Patriot which has lower cas? I'm not sure that OCZ will even work on this board so it may just be a choice between the COrsair xms or the Patriot 1gb thx.
Edit: yeah 1gb >_<

i think you mean 1 gb
well anyway patriot is making a name for itself and seems to be putting out pretty good quality ram
i would go with tightest timings if you are going a64 and not oc'ing |

Yes. Unless you bought DDR500 or something like that. |

2x 512mb sticks are MUCH better then one gb stick.
Reason for that is, first: they overclock much farther, be it pc3200 or not, secondly: you can get much much tighter timings out of it
With 2x 512 sticks you are able to reach a much higher speed, with much tighter timings
