    memtest is ok. P95 fails

I set my new set of Crucial value, the ones that use BGA ic's to 2.5-3-3-5 at 209Mhz. Ran memtestx86 for a good couple of hrs running thru all the tests. never came up with any errors. P95 running the combined torture test failed after 10 mins. Whats the deal with this. Had my CPU runnin at 2.5 for ages on old ram without an issue. Only gettin probs now. Anyone have any ideas?

Power supply could be going. Set the divider so that the ram is underclocked and try again. If it still fails you can rule out ram, if not you can rule out the chip.

Did you up the voltage to the ram, maybe 2.8v, or can you?

Had the ram at 240Mhz on looser timings and it was free of errors too. never ran p95 blend tho. Mem is at 2.7 or 2.8v not sure

Thats bloody crap! I buy better ram for more stability and some looser timings (1T is nice too) and it could be unstable. I loosened up the timings and have ran P95 blend for 5 or 6 hrs. No problems

Prime95 is a lot more stressing on the CPU and RAM than memtest is. I've had bad ram sticks make several passes in memtest without generating an error. Those same sticks would generate an error within the first few minutes of running prime. Not saying you have a bad stick, but if P95 is failing, then either your CPU or MEM os being taxed too high. Prime95 also gives you several different methods of testing which allow you to narrow down the problem to either the RAM or the CPU.
