help please ga7n400-l 3000+ barton
ok im not gonna over clock with the multipliers because my cpu is locked and im not unlocking it. ill break it. i just wanted to push the fsb up to 200 from 166 but when i did that i didnt have any video. i have 2 sticks of kingston 256 pc3200 memory on a ga7nn400-L with a 3000+ xp barton 333.
but i have another question. i have been looking for about a week now for the 6 channel audio kit that goes in the pci slot. heres the serial number... 12CR1-1SPAUD-12 i have put that number in google, msn, and yahoo and come up with almost nothing but overseas stuff. i need that so i can do surround sound and use my mic at the same time for online gamming. i play day of defeat. thanks in advance for your help.ASUS M2N-SLI DELUXE, A64 X2 6000+, 4X1G OCZ HPC REAPER DDR2 PC2-6400, PNY 8800GTS 320MB

Either your cpu can't handle that big of a jump or you didn't fix the apg/pci to 66.6/33.3.
Read the overclocking guide & take your time getting to 200mhz.

ok thanks. i read your guide there and got it up to fsb 184 (2395). but i ran prime95 and it errored out on the 8th test. i already put the core voltage up to 7.5% to get to stay stable tha long. at these settings i idle at about 56 degrees thats about 2 degrees higher than stock. under load i hit about 64 about 2 degrees higher than normal. ive heard for my board those arent bad temps because of the placement of the sensor. now what would you do next if you were in my shoes. also i tried to lower the multiplier in order to raise the fsb and the multiplier does nothing. can someone post a guide or several guides so i can research them to unlocking a 3000+ 333 barton. my date on the processor is aqyfa0345tpmw. now about my temps. i am using some cheap thermal paste. i just ordered that arctic silver 5 so that should help out. and can someone tell me what kind of hsf i have. it says thermaltake on it. and on the bottom it has the web address and a number 4 on it. its copper with like a metal schroud and it has a 80mm white fan. is this good enough? well thanks for answering all the dumb questions. and a big thanks to jlk for that guide. that got me going. hell i wasnt even gonna overclock until i seen that.
oh and my psu is +3.3 26a +5 35a +12 15aLast edited by redrum2663; August 24th, 2005 at 11:56 AM.

redrum2663,
That power supply is gonna be a problem
15a on the 12v rail is not enough for the giga nforce2 boards, and certianly will not be stable in an overclocked state.
Ive got some info/address for contacting gigabyte USA somewhere... holla if you want me to look for it.

ok this psu sucks to. i got another board a ga-7nnxp. and when i have the dsp module in it reboots by its self after awhile. i checked around and they say its my psu. and when i had the other board i couldnt even overclock as high as i was getting with the psu that came with my case. if anyone knows of a better psu please tell me. im sick of trying to save money so i dont care what it costs. thanks in advance.

redrum2663,
You should try running that 7NNXP without the dps module....
There was a whole lotta folks that had issues with the dps module, and many have reported better overclocking and cooler temps after the removal of said device.
BTW: the specs on that 580watt powork demon are not too bad, Ive never heard of that brand, but the numbers look good.

since i figured out it was the dps module i havent put it back in. but you would think that this psu would do the trick. but it performs worst than my 450 watt that came with the case. i dont understand it. i guess you get what you pay for.
