Overclocking asus K8V SE deluxe

Hey Guys,

I have Asus K8V SE Deluxe, with athlon 64 3200, 1 gig of budget ram.

Im currently running it at 2.42 stable, however when I turn up the FSB anything higher than 220 it becomes unstable. Im a bit of a noob when it comes to overclocking and was wondering what I need to do to make it faster. I have sufficient CPU cooling with a Zalman gosu fan. i cant seem to find the multiplyer on this board either. IT has FSB, CPU speed which only goes up to 2200.

IM not sure what this means above but thought it could be my memory not allowing me to overclock anymore?

If you adjust that multiplier be prepared to clear the cmos when you get a black screen.
At least on the older model Asus boards like the A7N8X models you go into the advanced
chipset section in the bios to adjust the cpu multiplier there. On the Atholon XP3200+ 32bit
cpu here the default is at 11X. At 11.5X the cpu reaches 2.3gb from the 2.2050gb default.
Anything higher sees a black screen upon the reboot of the system.

First you have to find out if your cpu is locked. On the older Atholons prior to the one here
some could really climb up there over 2.5gb in some cases. Depending on the batch of cpus
the 3200+ could also go a little higher according to some. The one here seems to be locked.
If the screen goes black you then have to pop out the nicad battery on the board and jump
the pins to clear the cmos. Keep that in mind. Currently 3-3-3-8 is where I'm stuck.
