Unhappy
are my memory timing correct and is it worth upgrading

i dont know much about the memory side of pcs so am i need a bit of infomation.
ive just beeing looking at cpuz and in the memory tab the timings part my frequency is fluctuating between 157.9-158 mhz. should this be 200mhz??

my timings are as follows
frequency: (constantly changing between) 157.9-158 mhz
fsb:dram: cpu/14
cas latency: 2.0 clocks
ras to cas delay: 2
ras precharge: 2
cycle time: 7
bank cycle time: 10
d ram idle timer: 16

my spd timings table (in the spd tab say):
frequency: 200mhz
cas latency:2.0
ras to cas:2
ras precharge: 2
t rs:8

also another problem with it is at boot up my pc is saying its ddr333, it is meant to be ddr400.
cpuz says it pc3200!!

this ram is crucial balisix single channel. i have 2, 512mb sticks of it.
is all the above info correct or is it just me
as you can tell i dont know much about it, but the ram is advertised as
"Memory Timings: 2-2-2-6" is everthing in order

also my board is a msi kn8 neo4 sli platinum, would i see any difference in performace if i buy some dual channel memory like xms pro or something or is it not worth it? i only bought the crucial 6 months ago. and use my pc mostly for gaming. i have a athlon 64 3500+ winni and use a x850xt g/card. would changing to dual channel memory give me noticable performance increases.

thanks for any ones time who can can help me

i also found this when i run one of the applications in the cpuz folder, i think its timing if it could help anyone answer my questions:

huh , just checked that seem 2 be for my processor

You're running a cpu:ram divider which is making your ram run slower than your cpu. Also you have dual channel ram (2x512 is all you need), but either your mobo doesn't support dual channel, it's disabled in bios, or you have the sticks in the wrong slots.

You might want to read the bios section of your mobo manual. It can probably help you get the ram running 1:1 dual channel.

is there a way of turning off the cpu:ram divider?? and is that why when i turn my pc on it says i have ddr333 and making it run at 160mhz.
ill check my manual and see if they in the wrong slots. the board does support dual channel. i always thought you had to get memory that was dual channel enabled?
thanks for your help ill post after i finish work tonight.

I know you can change the ram to 1:1, but I don't have any experience with A64 dividers. The "Dual Channel Kit" is two matched pieces that are guaranteed to work in dual channel, but any two similar sticks will usually work fine.

You should see a nice boost when you get those settings corrected.
Good luck

I think that's a common mistake with your board because most are slots 1 & 3 for DC. Glad you got it up to speed. Can you see/feel a difference?
