| LGA775 bus speeds too high ??
Hi guys :-) , I have a strange problem ,
the game "command and conquer yuri revenge" won't play on either of my 2 lga775 p4s'
one is a 3ghz the other 2,8 ghz. when clicking on the exec it simply flashes on then off.
on my other p4s' 478 2,4ghz celerons, the game plays fine, and on my (sold) amd3000+ also
played fine, my 1st instinct was that it was a problem of higher "bus" speeds in the lga
setup , have tried under-clocking doesn't help, it works after a fashion (although missing
some functions) if I use winxp and right-click the exec and emulate using win95 for example
any ideas ppl ? btw on the 478s' have used both win2k and winxp fine for the game. |

I dont think its your bus speed at least that wouldnt be my first guess. What are teh other differences in your computers? You know, a different video card/sound card? Have you tried to reinstall it? is the CD a copy?

well , I have a cracked version so to speak , zipped onto a cd , simply unzip onto the hdd
and play .... ;-) .
have tried it with my fx5200 and ATI x700 and still doesn't work , all pc use onboard
snd , lan , vga etc.....
some1 suggested disabling hyper threading = still doesn't work , btw other p4 s' r all
533mhz bus , also need 4 speed 2 will not work either ?? installs fine , but when trying to play give "not enough memory" error ... these lga don't seem very gamer friendly at all ?! |

Next time tell us if you are using a cracked version. I wouldnt have wasted my time looking for a hardware problem if I had known that.
IN short, the computer is very gamer friendly. Its the cracked version of the game that isnt gamer friendly.
I will bet that if you buy the game you wont have any problems.. |

see this link for slightly more helpful replies , as such Vern I don't think its a
waste of time , saying that , as u'll see in my above post
"need for speed 2" also DOESN'T work.
the link gives more on the hardware I am running, and give the pcs' the games
DO run on and the pcs' the games DON'T run on.
Hope this possibly sheds more light on the situation (btw need4speed is OG ) http://forumz.tomshardware.com/hardw...ict178506.html |
