| Windows XP Shows Wrong Clock Speed
Hi, I have a AMD Sempron 3000+ at 2 GHz (1.99) and Windows is showing it as 1.19 GHz. How can I solve this problem? |

Sounds like you need to manually increase your FSB (CPU Frequency) from 133MHz to 166MHz within BIOS to get the correct clock speed.
BTW, Welcome to TechIMO!

Your settings need to be 12 x 166
I believe you are currently running at 12 x 100
What motherboard do you have?
It may be that the option you need is not available because you have another option set wrong. Or maybe your board doesn't support Sempron chips.

Are you sure it was higher before?
You could have jumpers for fsb.
You should definately see a difference between 1.2 and 2.

yes, i know it was higher before, my processor is 2 GHz, i'm pretty sure it doesnt have jumpers, i wouldnt have changed them if there were, i dont like messing with jumpers, but i could have knocked something when i put in my other hard drive, ill check that next time i shut down |

You can use CPU-Z to verify your front side bus. Some motherboard always default to a lower FSB & must be manually increased to get the right clock speed. |

CPU-Z Results
Core Speed - 1190.9
Multiplier - x12.0
FSB - 99.2 MHz
Bus Speed - 198.5 MHz woah thats way wrong, ok i think ill go check my bios |
