    Does Faster RAM improve response times in windows and games?

    I'm a gamer and a multimedia guy and I just got a new AMD X2 4200+ but it still feels slow. I have some uber cheap 1 GIG RAM dual channeled from 2 512RAM sticks.

    If I got these: Corsair 1 GIG XMS (2x512MB)

    Will my response times be quicker in both games and windows such as Alt Tabbing out from a game into windows to check something?
    Intel i7 920. Sapphire 5770 Gigabyte EX58-UD3R. 6 GIG OCZ Triple Channel. Intel SSD X-25M. Corsair 620W PSU

    It will go faster than a single core when you are multitasking.
    ASUS A8R32-MVP Deluxe (crossfire) - AMD ATHLON 3000+ 1.8Ghz => 2.4 ghz - 1 Gig Ram Dual Channel - ASUS 7900GT TOP - Spire Rocketeer V 500Watt

    In my expierience, the quanity of RAM, (i.e. 1Gb vs. 1.5Gb/2Gb), will show the most performance difference in Windows' general performance more than the quality of a specific brand.

    I'm not a high end gamer, (RPGs mostly), so someone else will certainly have a more helpfull answer pertaining to, like say, BF2 or Halo
