    Motherboard issues

    I have a Amd 64, Socket 754 Gigabyte motherboard

Was working perfect, all of a suuden it was really slow, So I restarted the computer, It was windows 2000, it stalled on the splash sceen, tried in safe mode, got as far as, mup.sys I did a google search on that, & tried all kinds of things,

then I went and bought a new drive, Insalled XP x64, its stalls during setup, have to power down then power on to get it to finish, but when I restart its stalls again, So I then tried windows 2000 again, & regular xp, all the same
they all stall during installation. then they dont work once installed

I have tried disableing onboard stuff
    new video card
    swapped out ram
    swapped out cd roms

any ideas on anything else to try, motheboard is only 6mths old

it currenty has just regular XP,

Just tried to install a driver, it worked, but in the middle of insallation it restarted itself

    What's your Power Supply?
What brand, wattage, and amperes [amps or A on the sticker] on the 12 V rail(s) do you have?

Try removing all add in cards, and blowing the slots out, put cards back in, try Powering up again.

have you checked 'combusters' not sure if thats proper name

little sticks stickin out of you board .. sometimes they leak ....

have you tried reseat CPU ? thermal paste ?

have you checked hardware temperature ??

maybe its overheating and thats why its freezing up

Go into the BIOS and check your temps and voltages. Report back here what they say.

Hopefully all your temps voltages are OK.
