hey guys
i'm thinking about buyin a new laptop and currently i'm looking at a satellite. like all of its features but am a little bit confused about the processor. it says it has an intel core duo processor @ 1600MHz and L2 Cache: 2048 KB, am not quite sure what that means. my old laptop has a p4 @ 2.4 Ghz. is this one better, worse or what's the difference? can somebody explain please? thanx |

the core duo is an awesome CPU, even if its "ONLY" 1.6ghz doesnt mean its slower than a 2.4 P4...

Your old CPU -- the 2.4GHz P4 -- is single core. The new one -- the core duo -- is dual core. Plus the architecture is much better on the newer Pentium-M's (solo and duo). So, that core duo - @ 1.6GHz/core - is probably gonna feel like it's twice as fast as your old P4.

The Core 2 Duo CPU, even tho it is slower in MHz than your P4 2.4, will perform ALOT better!!!
You will see alot better results with the Core 2 Duo.

anyway, as mentioned above, its a completely new architecture and u cant compare it to ur P4.... but its not SLOW lemme tell u that, plus its a dual core |

Sorry was half asleep when writing that....
Core Duo/Core 2 Duo, either way it has far better performance than a P4 CPU. |

core 2 duo is much more better than even P-D(two processor).Jz think how about for P-4(one processor)
