Okay i have a Gateway GT4016 and it has a AMD3700+ and i was wondering if i could put a say X2 3800 or something along those lines in it.
if i could would it be worth it cuase i can't afford a total system make over so suggesting a new system or anything that would take more than 250 would kinda just be over my limit.
thanks.
also game, and listen to music
watch movies on my tv from my card while surfing the web so would it help much.

Specs http://www.compusa.com/products/prod...ct_code=337500
Looking at your PC specs, i would definetly think that it supports x2 processors.
But just so no mistakes are made: Download Everest Home Edition, and it can tell you your motherboard. Post your motherboard manufactuer and model # here, or google it, to confirm it will support dual core.
Im not knowledgeable on how much Power an x2 3800 uses, but do you have a video card installed in there also? B/c you might want to consider upgrading your power supply. You could post manufactuer, model #, watts, and Amps on 12V if you want some suggestions. |
