MAIL IN REBATES
Alright i know many of you HATE MIR (Mail in rebates) and i myself was beginning to hate them as well cuz mine was taking forever to get here. I ordered a pair of dual channel corsair 1gb sticks on May 23rd through tigerdirect.ca and received them prolly a couple days after that so we'll say i got it on the 25th and i did my MIR that day and mailed it the next. it has FINALLY arrived today august 15th, almost 4 months later but i tell u what, i now have faith that i will get my money and am now fillin out all my MIR's for my new system i just built. An instant rebate woulda been nice but ya know what, this whole gettin money outta the blue thing makes it feel like xmas, lol. just thought id try and restore a lil faith in non-believers out there. PEACE, im out!

yep, MIRs are pretty much the worst thing ever. I stay clear of them or factor them out of my budget.

I know, im still pretty much the same way, i dont buy a product b-cuz it has an MIR but if it does thats a bonus, and now atleast i can trust that ill actually get my money, and if it takes 150 off my build cost im certainly not complaining.

The best way to insure you get your rebates is to first make a photo copy of the included items that are to be sent in. You can do a scan as well. Include it into the package being sent.
2nd make a spreadsheet and put on the estimated date of arrival. IE if it says 4-6 weeks, use six weeks. The day that the rebate should be in your hot little hands, and isnt, call the rebate center.
If they get pissy on the phone, just tell them that you are reporting them.
They essentially are using your money interest free. The longer they delay, or not payout increases their profit, and your loss.

Some rebates can take AN EXTREMELY long time to process. Companies use them, cause' they know us fat and lazy Americans aren't going to go through the steps required to get everything accomplished.
I've had rebates that have taken 6 months to get processed. And others that have only taken a few weeks. IMO rebates are stupid. BUT, if a company is willing to give back money for for buying their products, then who am I to deny them of their right? And thus it was spoken by the mighty Uss. And it was so.

Won a cheap audio compressor on eBay, and received a digital room relay. :heh: Seller had the room delay for auction as well, so I suspect its winner received my compressor. ;) Now...
