intel core 2 duo help

hello, i am not sure how fast one of these procceossors are. i belive it is the model e6300 which has a processor speed of 1.89ghz or somewhere around there, but anyway how come many people say that it is faster then the x2 4400 when the 4400 speed is 2.4 not 1.89? if someone could help me out there i would be very happy. thanks alot!

in terms of real time power the c2d is faster and out preforms the 4400, thats what people mean by faster.

when you read the benchmarks you'll see what I mean...i know the 6300 isn't listed but you can get an understanding of what I'm talking about

The Core 2 Duo does more work per cycle, which is how it out-performs the higher clocked AMD & much higher clocked P4 or P-D. The E6400 (not a E6300 on the list) doesn't win all the benches, but it does a lot better than a AM2 X2 4400+ in most benches.
