    Question Dual P4 Xeon 2.8GHz -VS- C2D ?

     
    what would give better gaming performance with 2 gig DDR2 ...

    cant seem to find any 3d bench tests comparing the 2 maybe someone here would know or have a good link

    Those two processors are manufactured for two completely different reasons, so it would be hard to find a benchmark to compare them. If I were to make an educated guess though, I'd say that the C2D would be better for the purpose of gaming.

    that would be my guess too , however I was wondering if there was anything to substantiate it , kind of curious as to how well a dual xeon would stand up against c2d in 3d bench gaming situations ..

    any personal experiences out there ?

    That compares Mac workstations (that use dual-Xeons) to single processor gaming machines. The latter won, and since the C2Ds are way better than the processors that won, then C2D would be the better choice.
