    please help!! need info on processer

     
    please help! My friend and i havebeen arguing... he says that duocore processers speed is 2 times what it says ex. if it is listed as running at 2.4 ghz then it is 2 times that.... is this true or not?

    Well what I heard. It say 2.4 GHz was divide to 1.2 GHz.

    I am not sure if I am correct about this

    No, your friend is incorrect. Each core would run at 2.4 GHz.

    you are very confused on that one...

    Rob or someone else can explain it better than I can but don't think of it in terms of 2x2.4ghz. Dual cores are faster in relative terms because the cpu cycles are spread between the two cores {I think thats how it is anyways}

    yes, both cores run at 2.4Ghz. thats all. what you actually will have is two SEPERATE CPUs that each run at 2.4Ghz
