maybe thats the reason for the price drop?
AMD knows they can't sell these things at the price point they intended with the errors in them, can't remember if it was here or another forum, I read about AMD issuing needs to all manufacturers that make boards that support these things to make a Bios update, that shuts down/disable that aspect of the CPU, dropping overall performance even lower.
what I'm wondering is about the rumored Tri-cores, I hear one thing their based on these "retarded" CPU's, so will inherit their flaws, but won't be out till after 1st of year...
if that is true, & the Quads pricing is dropping, where is that going to leave the Tri's & if that, then what happens to current Duals? Will they start labeling revisions of Dual cores as Semprons?
or is it possible the Tri's might be made on a fixed version of the Quads? if so, then pricing for them will be in same range as the current Quads, making even more confusion among general consumers...
I'd like to know what AMD's plans are with this major F*** up on their part with the Quads... price ranges of lesser CPU's, what the Tri's will be based on if & when released etc? (also will the Tri cores require AM2+ boards or work on "older" AM2's?)
