impossible to find a dual core Socket 939 at any vender.

Keep Goglelizing Socket 939 X2 and get a list only to find that they are Sold Out.

Also, can't be sure if some Mobos support dual core or need a new BIOS.

If I were you id go to Ebay , I found my "golden" Opteron 175 there for $70 , runs perfect at 3.1 and 1.32vcore . youll probubly have to download AMDs "dual core optimizer" just a program that allocates processes to different core instead of having to do it manually , def. a MUST...what motherboard do you have?

I just thought I'd let you know your replying to a post that's 2 months old. Since, roosta has built a new system, and has no need for this post anymore..
