Intel E7200 Overclock?

I have looked around online for a while, on some other forums, that people got to overclock the Intel E7200 to 4.3 Ghz and STABLE. I was wondering if this is possible since I'm building my rig again. I was considering an AMD 6400 X2 (3.2 Ghz) with an Asus M3A32 MVP. Now that people have been saying Intel was wiping the market over AMD, I decided to take a look on Intel.

....So, two questions, can the E7200 overclock to 4.0-4.3 gigahertz and be stable and fast and stay cool.
....And what motherboard could go good to overclock with this processor, price range, 150-210.

well it depends on whether you get a good chip or not, every chip is slightly different and some can OC more than others even if they are from the same batch. With that said, the new materials in the E7XXX and E8XXX series Intel processors allow it to OC much more than past generations.

I would ditch the E7200 and get the E8400 instead whch has twice the cashe (it makes alot of difference) and get a slightly cheaper board.

You would want some decent ram to with that too if you really plan on pushing it. This is an amazing OC board and if you get a good chip you would definatly be seeing some 4+Ghz clocks

As your gonna OC, a decent cooler is a must. May i suggest some Artic Cooling goodness?

If your looking to OC any of the Intel 45nm dual cores, then you should be looking into the E8400/E8500. They OC like a dream!
Make sure you watch you v-core on those chips though, you can't go over 1.4 without killing off your CPU.
And this board will OC that chip like a dream!

you could get by with something a little bit less also, like this:

Both E7200's and E8400's overclock equally well. One just has less cache. Either one you go with will be fine, but do yourself a favor and get an Intel chipset, not an nVidia one.

IF you do a google search for reviews on the E7200, the lack of FSB and Cache caused a general 5% drop in performance peaking with games around 9%. As already mentioned, its equally good on OC but because of some limitations you may need to up voltage to get a stable overclock over 4ghz from what i have read.

I have my e7200 at 3.8ghz stable. With a better cooler and having more knowledge of my board im sure I could break the 4.0ghz barrier for 24/7 use. I know one person who already has. I have actually seen 5.0ghz out of this proc
