CPU Cooling. heatsink/water cooling???
hello all!
Im thinking of getting a better processor cooler as the existing i have got now is loud and not verry good even thow it is pure copper, and i have 4 case fans (front, back, side and arround GFX card).
I have £75 to spend and i could get a good heatsink or a fairly cheap watercooling set.
I have a lga775 P4 (HT Technology) 3.4GHz. My temps are at idle, now, while surfing the net, 56oC and at load things can get up to 70oC at load.....not good.
I would aprecheate the help on this,
I have been looking at the Heatsink: Coolermaster Hyper 212.(because of its side design and quietnes)
or the watercooling : Thermaltake Bigwater 735. (because it is arround £75 and i have always wanted a watercooling setup)
I want my temps low enough (the lower the better, at the moment its heating my room up) to do some overclocking, i have reached 4GHz but the temps were like 70oC at idle!!!!decided to turn it to stock speed. :O
Also i was thinking of getting a Q6600 in the future.
thanks for your help.....Last edited by jamhough22; July 17th, 2008 at 06:40 PM.

why bother, you have a p4. even the q6600 is outdated. You want to OC then you need to get a 8X00 series C2D. Those overclock crazy good.

hmmm ok.......ive read some reviews and i was thiking of a E6850, getting the watercooling i might be able to get it to arround or just under 4GHz.....and by the sounds of it it might be fast enough, and may not need overclocking.
thanks for that comment, i think i wont get a Q6600.....Intel Q6600. 8800GTX x2 SLI. 2Gig DDR3 1333 ram. 500Gig Hard drive. XFX 790i
