ok im new to stuffin' with puters right i put in a new 250gb hd that i want to be the boot drive. Now i know my drives are in the right places,so the original drive is slave, New drive is master ok. All formatted and ready to go the problem iam having is the original hard drive is still the boot drive? Both drive are exact clones so i have original C:/ and New F:/ how do i make C:/ the F:/ drive and F:/ the C:/ drive thanks

These days, you have to choose exactly which drive to boot from in BIOS setup. The BIOS is smart enough to find the original drive and boot from it no matter where you put it. Amazing, no?
Start the PC and press whatever key is specified to enter Setup. In there, find the Boot Sequence. Set the new drive as the first boot option.
Ideally, the new drive should be master.
Another trick is to remove the old drive. That will force a selection process, but this is not recommended.
Remember that simply copying the data to a drive does not make it bootable. You must "clone" the drive. If you used the drive maker's utility, it was cloned.
