RAM heatspreaders - any recommendations?

Hi everybody,

I have a silly server computer that I built for a fun project. The RAM that I got for it is this: Newegg.com - Kingston 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM ECC Registered DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit Server Memory - Server Memory and it seems to run very hot. I've been thinking about getting some heatspreaders for the RAM, to prolong its life and so that I don't have to worry about it (trying to make the case as quiet as possible, which means not all that much airflow). I found a few threads on here talking about this, but they are from 2005, and I was wondering if there had been any improvements. The other threads say that some companies use really thick tape, which actually hinders cooling. I've been looking at these: Newegg.com - Scythe SCKW-1000 "KAMA WING SILVER" Aluminum Memory Heatsink - Memory & Chipset Cooling which have both thin and thick tape, and Scythe is (from what I hear) an superb cooling company, so I was just wondering if anybody has any personal experience or recommendations or little nuggets of wisdom to share.

Thanks!

That Scythe should do fine.

shouldn't even need that, its DDR400, how hot could it be running?

unless really poor ventilation in that case, shouldn't need any really...

only reason you would is maybe for Overclocking or overvolting the RAM.
