| Overclocking an old system?
firstly im a total noob at overclocking and dont quit understand what the process involves
anyway i got a pretty old system and since everybody is doing it i thought i might overclock also to push some more juice out of it. PC eMachines 8220 MB Trigem Alaska3 Mainboard
Pentium 4 2.80 GHz processer
160 GB Hard Drive
Sapphire Technology RADEON HD 3850 512MB AGP
1.5 GB of DDR2 RAM
OCZ Technology 500W STEALTHXSTREAM POWER SUPPLY
Stock Cooling
is it possible..is it worth it..and im not planning on upgrading and im also not going for huge numbers..3.00Ghz or 3.2Ghz would be enough i dont want to fry the system up also
thank you
edit: i had a little read thought about overclocking and i got an idea of what it kinda is
also i found this article would this be useful in my case..should i follow it? and i know its like 2002 old? ByteSizedReviews.com :: Intel Pentium 4 2.66GHz C1 Overclocked to the Max
and here are some current screen shots if anyone knows what's going on

Generally store bought machines won't let you OC. This keeps the user from killing the pc and trying to return it |

Simply put, your Emachines system won't let you overclock. Bios restrictions won't give you the option
But don't feel bad, as you wouldn't have noticed much, if any improvement going from 2.8 to 3.0-3.2ghz
