lol, those aren't benchmarks. Those are graphs supplied by AMD.

yes, but what its comparing against is their previous platforms, which does atleast show some promise of much improvement. Im just posting anything new i find and thats atleast any glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel before they lift the NDA and we see the stuff in action.

Bleh, most everything out there I see is speculation at best. The last link I posted had some supposed prices from a page that was removed. Softpedia gives info but no "real" results.
The way things have gone with AMD over the last couple years I'll hold off getting too excited until we see some real numbers on some released samples.
Interesting read techPowerUp! News :: Intel to Retaliate to AMD Phenom II Overclocking Feat, Plans Demonstration at CES '09 Quote: |
A chief engineer at Intel, Francoise Piednoel expressed his reservations regarding the 6.00 GHz overclocking feat AMD carried out with its upcoming Phenom II X4 processor last week, saying that the overclocking capabilities of the Phenom II X4 demonstrated do not reflect those of release-grade products, and cannot be replicated in a real-world setting. AMD may have disabled several sensors on the cherry-picked chip used in its demonstration, which facilitated that overclock.

Exactly my point. When the only information we have this close to release is graphs by AMD that aren't even real benchmarks, that doesn't bode well. If it was truely a significant upgrade, AMD would have leaked real benches and even supplied reviewers with hardware for independant benchmarks.
As of now, I see more reason NOT to get excited. |

More from EX Phenom II Outperforms Core 2 in Multimedia Performance? - Expreview.com
As mentioned there those charts look a bit off. The 9400 and 9300 shouldn't be separated that much, and we have to take into account thats and AMD chart. So I'm still not seeing groundbreaking performance.
If the leaked pricing is right then the Pii 940 comes in above the i7 920 and around the Q9550. |

from the previous EX link Quote: |
Today an Australian website leaks something new about the price. It says Phenom II X4 920 and Phenom II X4 940 will be sold at AUD471.90 (about $302.5) and AUD532.40 (about $341.2). The link has been deleted. If this is true, then the price is quite close to Intel Core i7-920 processor.

with AMD's uncanny ability for lower prices than intel i say the 940 will be $250-$350 in the US.
When Jan. comes around I'll build an AMD system with a 940 in it, oc it, and show it to you guys on CPUID (if I get the rebate on my car by then). |
