    Overclocking time

     
    yes, in the top 30 pcs post i thought i was running 3ghz but i looked at it and it was only 2.75, now when i try to put it at 3 ghz (333 fsbx9) it restarts then when i get past the vista login screen it just hangs on a black screen with the cursor,
    I have an Asus p5q3 deluxe mobo, and a q6600, im using ai booster to OC
    Intel Q6600 Quad Core Processor 2.4GHz
    4Gb DDr3 1600 | Radeon HD4870X2 2Gb
    Asus P5Q3 Deluxe Motherboard

    Have you read an overclocking guide? Here's graysky's guide - good stuff in there, especially since it is specific to C2D & C2Q. I'm not sure if he updated it to include DDR3 though.

    if you are hellbent on using that program, you need to increase your core voltage a bit.
