whether I be able to overclock my E7200

Can anyone please tell me should I overclock my E7200 to atleast 3.00 GHz
I have Gigabyte GA-G31M-S2L motherboard & DDR2 RAM (2GB 800MHz)

Hi and welcome to TechIMO.
I'm pretty sure the G31 chipset lacks the options that you need to overclock. And even then, you have to make sure you have proper cooling for the CPU before you OC.

depends on which G31 board they have, some do have some OC options, just not as many as a more capable board/chipset would have.

If I remember right, the one in my Qpack system that engracio sent to me, had some basic settings in the bios. (that board was an ECS board with a G31 chipset if I remember right)

Reading the reviews on Newegg most reviews say that board OCs very well so from the looks of it you shouldn't have any issues with that mild of an OC. However keep in mind OC'ing is very much a YMMV thing, every set of components OC differently.
