Replacing Stock Heatsink have a few Questions.

Alright my friend has this fan/heatsink combo.

Instead of his stock one now I live a few states away from him, but I built his PC on a site and now its in and we are trying to put it together through a webcam.

He sais the heatsink/fan has 4screwes that you need to screw into the case/mobo but there aer no holes on the mobo. I cant quite see how it works because I stil have my stock one but know these are alot better can anyone help?

Alright he has the 4 holes on his motherboard but they are a push pin setup and the fan / heatsink has screws. so the screws have nothing to grab onto how does that work?

Nevermind We are still having problems. The mobo has the 4 holes in teh right spots but underneath where the case is it only has 2 holes that will ... work the other 2 are too far apart.

OK The retard friend of mine forgot about the backplate that it comes with and the screws screw into and forgot to mention that to me so when I looked at the site again I realized what was missing. Sorry =/

Standoffs. It is easier to make a template for the holes unless you are already wired in. Don't forget the thermal paste that allows for more heat transfer FROM the cpu TO the heat sink. Don't get carried away with the stuff, stay back about 1/8" from the edge so it won't squeeze out onto the CPU pins. And thread the screws like putting on a car tire. One, then go diagonal, then repeat and don't tighten all the wat until the last turns. Makes a big difference in heat transfer.
