Need ideas and prices

Hello, I'm looking for a gaming spec computer that will fit my budget around £450, maybe not too extreme gaming system but a decent/better gaming system.

Needed: hybrid or 3-SLI or Xfire Mobo (DDR2/3 ideal for gaming), Processor (AMD), PSU, RAM, Sound Card, NIC, Cooling and Case.

Re-used: GeForce 8800GT, Monitor, Mouse/Keyboard and Speaker.

Thanks,
GeForce.

(DDR2/3 ideal for gaming) Might as well get DDR3 pretty much same price now as DDR2
Processor (AMD) Good for budget rigs....
PSU Picked out a unit that will run the comp atm... will need a good 500-600W unit if you want multiple cards (you would have to get a couple ATi cards though).
RAM Mentioned above....
Sound Card Comes on the motherboard, unless you have some expensive speakers on-board sound will sound just as good...
NIC Same as above on-board tends to be pretty good....
Cooling Fans come with case.
Case Good cheap case.

Re-used: GeForce 8800GT, Monitor, Mouse/Keyboard and Speaker.

Thanks,
GeForce.

If you can stretch your budget to £500-£550 then you can get an i5 system.... you can run SLI on that....

CPU
Intel Core i5 750 2.66Ghz (Lynnfield) (Socket LGA1156) - OEM [BV80605001911AP] Processors Intel Core i7 / i5
£139.99

Mobo
MSI P55-GD65 Intel P55 (Socket 1156) DDR3 Motherboard [P55-GD65] Motherboards Intel LGA1156 (P55 Chipset)
£131.99

PSU
OCZ StealthXStream 600w Silent SLI Ready Power Supply [OCZ600SXS-UK] Power Supplies OCZ
£58.98

£526.92

(You would be better off going with the i5 IMO)

Welcome to TechIMO by the way...

The case does not come with a PSU, but I put one in the list...

Nvidia cards have SLI
Ati cards have CrossfireX

SLI and Croosfire are the terms used for ATi's and Nvidia's multiple GPU setups (two or more cards). They boost performance by sharing the load, each card will render an equal portion of the display, you will see a performance boost if the game supports multi gpu setups (most do).

Nvidia have a little bar you can enable in game to see if SLI is working.

yeah, AMD has had SLI for quite a long time now, 700, 800, 900 etc chipsets have all had SLI capable configurations, I think even the Onboard Geforce 800 etc chipsets have some SLI configs as well.
