Good news everyone! The mobo (680i) isn't bad (thanks to Aaron JLK for their input) - the RAM itself was shot. I've looked up compatible RAM for the board, but a lot of it is discontinued on newegg. Any suggestions for a 4 GB set would be appreciated.
I used Kingston Hyper-x and corsair xms2 on my 650i, 680i and 780i boards
