Question
New computer

Just put together a 1 gig Duron computer and was wondering if 100 degrees F was a good operating temperature for the CPU ??
all seems to be OK. Just wanted to see if ti was in the ballpark or if I needed to put a case fan or two in there.. Thanks

Yeah, you're good. Most AMD CPUs run optimally between 40~55 degrees C, which is about 104~131 degrees F. Your processors actually on the cool side (althought it is a Duron, which I believe tend to run cooler than Athlons).

Sounds like someone's ready to overclock...hehe!

Exclamation
overclocking!!

As soon as this system settles down and seems to be reliable, I plan on getting a GOOD heatsink and fan combo and trying for 1.4 gig the limit this board will go without a bios flash. It that goes well, flashing will be able to support an Athlon XP 2000. But it seems fast enough now...if it ain't broke..
