SECC ?'s help...

Ok, I want to test some of my stuff out..

I have a P2/266 and a P3/600 that I dont know if they are bad or what....

I have heard of SECC and SECC2. No idea which is which..

Of these two slot 1 processors I have can they be tested in the same MB?..

I have those two chips and two MB's that I know that some part of each is bad, but I want to find out which.

I also have a working slot 1 P2 233, that is up and running. Could they be tested on it?? I hate to throw away a perfectly working chip or MB.

Cruez, good question. If your mobo will support that P-3 600, you can test all of them on it.

The difference is in the packaging, and this pretty much affects only heatsink/fan you can put on each of them. The holes in the processor card and casing are in different places, so an HSF for one type won't work on the other.

Your P-3 is definitely an SECC2, the others are almost certainly SECC's.

So yeah, they'll both work in the same mobo, if the mobo will support that P-3
