Hi! I am using Lenovo G400. I bought it with 1gb RAM only. I'm planning to buy additional 1gb memory card (DDR2 533) but most cards now are higher than 533.

Can I buy a memory card higher than 533 and use it together with the original 533?

Hey Luke & Welcome to TechIMO

Most DDR2 notebook So-Dimms are DDR2-533, but there are some DDR2-800 So-Dimms too. Many notebooks never supported the higher speed, but the DDR2-800 would work at DDR2-533 speeds. IMO you should use something like the Crucial Memory Adviser to make sure you're looking for the correct RAM. There is a good chance you have 2x512MB of RAM, not 1x1GB.

My laptop has 1x1gb RAM and it is upgradeable to 2gb (according to manual). I'll check it right now using the link you've provided.

It's just it's getting slow when I am browsing some sites. I'm using it primarily for surfing and some office/clerical stuff only.
