Well according to cpuid you aren't even running it at stock speeds let along OC'd and looking at the other pics there is only one that is helpful is the second one.
Can you give us more info, what board are you using? have the bios updated?
Why is the bios date so far off??
Do you get any errors once you save the setting and the board re-boots? It almost appears as though you are pushing the OC too far and the board is defaulting back to the stock bus freq.
Just to let you know, if this is a new build you should never make such a big OC right from the start. You want to bump speeds slowly not a giant leap all at once.Last edited by RicheemxX; September 9th, 2010 at 01:17 AM.

First off, your multi is only set to 8x. It should be at 9x at least, unless your following a OCing guide of some kind that tells you to set it to 8.
Your problem is probably CE1 or one of the other power saving features. It's down clocking your CPU when it's not under load to save power/heat. If you were to put the cpu under full load, you'd probably see the clocks jump up to whatever your OC is set too.
So look for a power saving feature that's still enabled (hint, it's in none of the screen shots you posted) and see if that helps.

I just assumed he's running the 8x multi so he could run the 500mhz bus to achieve the 4ghz he's looking for. Like you said probably from some OC guide?
From the pics it shows he's already got C1E and EIST disabled. The only other setting which would also be in the advanced tab would be the C2/C2e and C4/C4E State Support.

Spread Spectrum maybe? One of the power saving features is on if your multi is lower then 9x unless you manually set it there.
And like Rich said above, your gonna have to work your way up to a high OC like 3.6ghz or over. Those chips really varied on OC ability. Some of them would do 4Ghz no problems, others it would be hard to get 3.4Ghz or more. It's best to start with a lower OC and work your way up in small steps, testing for stability/heat problems along the way.

Reset your bios and start from scratch, if you had it stable at 3.6ghz start off with those settings and bump it a little, test and bump it some more.

Have you tried Running CPU-Z while running another CPU intensive Program in Windowed mode, to see if the CPU clocks back up to its set clock speeds?
though my system is different, and I believe I have some of the power saving things on in the Bios, my i7 920 runs at 2.66GHz, but when idle throttles down to 1.6Ghz or so, I ran a Video transcoding app called SUPER, that uses CPU processing for the tasks, converted a small 5MB AVI file and immediately the CPU throttled up to full 2.66GHz.
just about any program that uses the CPU could be used, even a Windowed version for Prime95, Prime95 (32bit) - 25.11 Download - EXTREME Overclocking
just run it for a few moments windowed and with CPU-Z opened up as well, and see if the clock speeds do go up.
Which is basically what KK suggested above by putting the CPU under load and see if the Clock speed increases.i7 940//Corsair H60//EVGA X58 SLI LE//6GB Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz//2x EVGA GTX 560 Ti FPB SLI//NZXT Hale82 850W//CM 690 II Advanced//Win7 64//WD 74GB V-raptor, 750GB Black, 1.5TB Green

I did but nothing.I open cpu-z in first windows then prime 95 in another one ,start running prime and what shows on cpu:multy is jumping from 6 to 9 ,core speed is standing between 2400 and 2402,the fsb 1633,all 4 cores are running at 99-100% load.
Really iam not catching whats going on.Why was working before and is not working anymore, wht option i have to disable,it's impossible i checked the whole bios at least 15 times in a row.Last edited by ll40; September 10th, 2010 at 04:36 AM.

2nd picture in 1st post, Advanced Clock Control, screen shot of those options would be nice, considering your having issues with overclocking.
