I have two laptops. One is dell inspiron 1526. The other is HP DV6018AE (DV6000). HP has a AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile technology TL-50 processor (AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile technology TL-50 - TMDTL50HAX4CT (TMDTL50CTWOF)) and the DELL has an AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile technology TL-60 (AMD Turion 64 X2 Mobile technology TL-60 - TMDTL60HAX5DM) processor. I'm planning to make one good laptop and the other one not as good. So I want to transfer the TL-60 processor to the HP laptop. I found out that DV6000 is compatible with TL-60. And I want to put the TL-50 processor from the HP to the DELL. DELL inspiron 1526 doesn't support TL-50 processor. Or at least i figure so from this page: Inspiron 1526 Laptop Product Details | Dell .
My question is: can I use the TL-50 processor with my DELL laptop? The socket seems to be the same - S1. The TL-50 has lower wattage than TL-60 so it shouldn't be harmful to my system power wise.

Welcome to TechIMO.
I would say there is a significant possibility that you'll end up with two non-functioning laptops. There are far easier ways to improve both laptops.
