Worth it or not: Upgrade Core 2 Duo e8400 @ 3.5Ghz to i7?
Hi all,
I'm wondering if its worth upgrading my OC'd C2D e8400 @ 3.5Ghz to a newer CPU? I'm mostly concerned with gaming, I have a HD 5850 and think that the Core 2 Duo may be keeping it back.
Is it worth spending the money for new MB + Memory +CPU? Or wait?

From what I understand - Nope not worth it unless money is no object.
It wouldn't hurt to mention which games you play.“Nobody can go back and start a new beginning, but anyone can start today and make a new ending.”

BTW, if the transmission is not computer controlled, and especially if the engine is running a carb, take a look at the kickdown linkage as well.
