anyone know overclocking 890fx mobo??
...looking for tips for a higher stable O/C...
mobo: ASUS M4A89TD PRO/USB3 AM3 AMD 890FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX
Ram: G.SKILL Flare 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2000 (PC3 16000)
CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 Black Edition Deneb 3.2GHz 4 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Quad-Core Processor HDZ955FBGMBOX
Win 7 Pro, Linux Mint
Nvidia 8800gt video (next upgrade...and SOON)
...anyway, I can get 4.1ghz and it idles cool but gets into the 60's+(C) running prime '95 and at around 3.8 it stays in the upper 50's....Vcore is 1.46 and I haven't done a lot with the rest of the voltages or loosend the ram timings and so on...
...this board has a LOT of things to adjust....
...just wanted to know who has played with a board like this and what they changed from "stock" to get better results...
...also what is safe voltages for this DDR3 & CPU..IE:....highest "safe" voltage BEFORE considering the temps
...and don't get me wrong..this thing ROCKS even at a mere 3.8ghz...lol
...just wanting to shave a couple tenths of a second off the quarter mile speeds!!!
Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!
