    Is this processor compatible?

Ok I am looking to upgrade my computer to a better processor.. Currently I have the specs on this computer other than my new 16 gb RAM I added.

HP Pavilion p6600 Desktop PC series*-* HP Pavilion p6653w Desktop PC Product Specifications - c02479700 - HP Business Support Center

It says the compatible processors but I was wondering if they might have just came out with this processor since my computer came out and maybe it will work. It seems faster than the other 6 core I can get. Here is the two. I really want the 1100T

    Newegg.com - AMD Phenom II X6 1100T Black Edition Thuban 3.3GHz, 3.7GHz Turbo 6 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor HDE00ZFBGRBOX

but if not I guess its this one..

    Newegg.com - AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition Thuban 3.2GHz 6 x 512KB L2 Cache 6MB L3 Cache Socket AM3 125W Six-Core Desktop Processor HDT90ZFBGRBOX

Is there a big difference between the two. And will it be a big difference between these and my Dual core that is in the first link..

    Thanks..

Aside from 100Mhz difference in speed, there both the same, and your really not going to see an ounce of difference between the 2 otherwise.

just get the 3.2Ghz one, and that should be good enough, its compatible according to the specs, and your saving a bit of cash as well.

as to comparison to your current Dual core, in single threaded applications, it might be a bit faster, than your current CPU, but if your using multi threaded software that can actually use more than one core, you should notice a significant boost in performance. Video editing apps, Photoshop stuff, some games that may use more than 2 cores. Things like that.

for every day stuff, surfing the web, email, youtube, etc, your really not going to notice that much more. if your running a ton of apps/programs at once, it will be more responsive, but not much beyond that.
