Actual Cores & Threads, How To Tell Them Apart?

Quick question, lets say I have word open and I want it to only use one core via set affinity but my dual core processor has hyper threading thus showing CPU 0, CPU 1, CPU 2, CPU 3. Are CPU 0 and CPU 1 the fist core? and CPU 2 and CPU 3 the second core? Also which ones in each set are the actual core and which ones are the simulated cores?

My guess is CPU 0 is the first core and CPU 2 is the second core.

The actual core doesn't show with that when Hyper Threading is used, since its seeing the processing threads from the cores. CPU 0 & 1 would be the main core, 2 & 3 the 2nd core.

Its not like CPU 0 is the core and CPU 1 is the extra simulated core, it isn't a simulated core, its the processing thread for the core that its showing.
