Best CPU temp readers?
There are so many out there! I thought id just go ahead and ask for the opinions of some overclockers, seeing how you guys would know the best ones out to date. So is it Everest, AIDA64, PC Wizard, MBM, Speedfan, CoreTEMP, or is it best to just download a temperature monitor from the MOBO's manufacturer? Personally im just looking for somthing that will tell me my temps without hogging much resources, and have a basic UI.
All opinions welcome

I still use Motherboard Monitor, for XP.
I don't think it is supported anymore though

Well they are all free so why not try each one individually and decide on your own?? For basic and simple core temp would get the nod from me, but then again some of those programs you have listed I wouldn't even consider for temps and wouldn't run just to see temps.

I liked ThrottleWatch for old P4 processors. I mostly use CoreTemp from modern CPUs, and I've used RealTemp as well.

lol, I didn't think it even worked with any newer motherboards. I remember using this long ago for my socket A boards.
Lately there's Realtemp and HWmonitor from the cpuid guys. I even used Everest home edition at one time when it was free.
I try to still use the manufacturers monitor program, like for Asus, the Asus PC Probe, etc.

I got totally lost with Everest. It might just be my own stupidity, but I couldn't find a way to see the results and data in a straightforward way, or at least what would be straightforward for me.

Everest is more of a summery, than a monitor.
At Least AFAIK.
CPU Thermometer. just reads temp, and only 1 or 2 as I remember.Last edited by stroyal; July 21st, 2012 at 02:47 PM.

As long as they get to keep spying on the little children(yes the Kinnect is still a requirement) they are happy.
