Rating AMD Fusion Processors vs Intel.

I have not been following the AMD procs these last few years. I am sure the low numbers on these are not directly comparable to the Intel ratings.

Or are they?

For example, how do these two procs compare?


• AMD Fusion Quad-Core A6-3400M 1.4 GHz processor (2.3 GHz Max Turbo Core frequency)
6GB DDR3 system memory

vs

• Intel Core i3-370M duel-core processor, 2.40GHz
4GB DDR3 SDRAM system memory


Is there a rule of thumb for comparing the AMD Fusion to the Intel i procs?

I use this to compare processors, but I don't see the AMD Fusion in the list. AnandTech - Bench - CPU

The AMD Llanos "Fusion" based CPU's can't even match the Intel's. CPU aspect of it anyways, GPU wise, their superior, but for CPU processing, they can't compare.

Though depending on what your doing with them, they (AMD) may be all you need, and also provide decent Graphics performance that you can't get from Intel's.

The Top of the line AMD APU Quad core, is about as powerful as the lower end AMD Athlon II/Phenom II Quad cores. Which are matched and bested by Intel's Core i3 Dual Cores.
