Cpu shim info Needed

I'm going to install a flip chip celeron in a Abit ZM6 M/B andwill be O/C it up to about850 mhz. I want to shim between the Vantec heat sink and processor. The chip has a sticker on it with what appears to be a bar code and I have a few questions about this process.
1.Do I need to remove this sticker so the shim lies flat on the chip?
2. The heat sink came with Artic Alumina pre installed on it(like a pad). Do I need to remove this and use something different?
3. The shim I bought from Cooler Guys and has a tan side and a shiny silver side. Which side goes to the heatsink?
4. Any other suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Shim isnt neccessary---may cause more problems then without, can you verify its the exact same thickness within a few hundredths of an inch as the die on your flip?
Is the shim metallic?
Will it add the heat from the sink back into the chip and socket the chips attached to?
Did Coolerguys give you accurate instructions as to how to use their product?
Ditch the shim, why do you need it anyways?
