Voltage is staying around 1.78 - am I safe? - Tech Support Forums

I have my Atlon XP 1900+ running at 139FSB with the voltage set at 1.76, and staying around 1.78 normally. It seems to be ok, and the performance is blazing, but am I taking an unnecessary risk? My system seems to run almost too good, even though the processor temp stay at 38°C idle, and 42°C maxed out.

Any experienced ocing advice is appreciated.

Nothing to worry, my vcore is 1.85V without oc'ing.
Higher vcore only generates more heat as it draws more power to the cpu. Your temps seem ok, so it doesn't matter.

Thanks for the vote of confidence: my performance (after switching to new mobo and 512 PC 2700 RAM is so much better than before that it literally had me worried. After toying in the BIOS, I came up with a setup that's getting me 11426 3D Marks in 3D Mark 2001 SE with my GeForce 4 Ti4600. That's a little over 300fps in Quake 3 at times

I am new to processor tweaking, so I got a bit worried, but it sounds like all is well.
