Alpha 8942 concern

Just mounted my first 8942 onto a 2.4GHz P4/ GA-8IEXP board.
Was not a real easy install, although it looks like it would be.

Seems that the mounting screws (that run thru the springs) do
not actually touch the standoffs when the heatsink is sitting on
the CPU. You have to apply a pretty good amt of pressure to get the screws to grab. Finally got that done, following the instructions and only tightening the screws until they "seated."
(I hope I didn't smear the AS III too much).

I noticed, looking on end, that the board is now very, very slightly
"bowed" right in the HSF area. I loosened the standoffs, to maybe
reposition them slightly to relieve any pressure that might be causing this. May have helped, but not much.

So I think everything will work, it's just a little disconcerting that
the mounting would do this. At first, thinking logically, that maybe
I forgot to add the washers underneath the standoffs, but that
wasn't the case. Once again, nothing is over-tightened, and I'd
rather not take this all apart. CPU was seated properly/ absolutely flat.

Any experience out there with this particular HSF? Could it be
due to the shear weight of the HSF? Thanks for the input.

Doke:
Thanks for the reassurance. And thanks for responding, Tim.
The board is 'bowed" on the HSF end, but like I said, only slightly so - just enough to make me a little nervous. Plus, in all dozen or so system builds,(not w/this board/HSF combo), I've never noticed this before.

Thanks again.
