Thanks DG, I was just going to get the regular XP instead of the MP. Do the mod which I have done on 4 XP cpu's 2 1800+/2 2000+ and slap it on my third duallie.
I guess nobody really know if the regular/retail 2000-2200 XP's are the newer T-bred versions.
Will email newegg and ask them what version they have. Thanks.

Hey, engracio!
I saw a site about this before...
What did you use to make it work? (Dualies out of XPs, that is...)
What board(s) do you use for it, and has it been as stable as a single XP or Dual MP?
Thanks!

Well got the email back from newegg.com:
me:
"Just wondering if the Retail version you have on sale for the 2000-2200 XP cpu's are the newer .13 version of T-bred or the older .18 version. Thanks."
Newegg.com:
"They are generally the .18 version unless we specifically say .13 on the website. Hope this information was helpful, have a nice day."
Can't get to the point more than that.

It seems to me that each of the earlier XPs (1700-2100) have both available to you. Each type has a denoted 0.13 micron chip, as well as the old 0.18; so you should be able to get whichever fits you without too much trouble
The 2200+ is a 0.13 micron only chip, they didn't make any Palominos in the 2200+. Happy Holidays |

I hope this helps: http://www.overclockers.com/tips00173/
I think most of the retail boxes are Palominos. Does anyone know how much better the Thoroughbreds are? I want to buy retail box so I can get the 3 year warranty and heat sink and fan. |
