what temp??

what temp should my CPU's be whan idle i have a duron 900 and an athlon xp 1700+

At idle, the temps should be around 35C to 45C, depending on room temp and case cooling/ temp. At 100% usage, the temp should not go above 60C, or instability may become a problem. Some have been known to work fine above this, but not by much. If at 100% utilization it is below 60C, you should be fine. The processors are both rated by AMD to be good up to 90C, but this is only before the chip is 'fried'. Stability is much lower than the 90C AMD rating.

Athlon XP I'd be comfortable with low 40's. Some may scream that that is too hot, but IMO it is very reasonable.

yes, anything above 60 should be looked at, i prefer in the low 40's for idle and high 40 to low 50 full load, i run a 1800+ w/ Volcano 9 though, so no prob with temps there!

true... in terms of computers of course... but if any real "cool" person were to see this, they'd be "whats that 'c' supposed to mean?" no offence to anyone out there, as i am a "cool" guy
