Motherboard support 1.3 Duron?

Hi guys,

I have a Soyo sy-k7vta-b motherboard flashed to the latest bios. At the AMD web site it says this board will support the 1.0 mhz duron procrssor. I see that the bios revisions was for the board to support the KT morgan duron, which I believe was started with the 1.0 mhz duron processor.
My question is this.....Does anyone know if it will it support the 1.3 morgan duron? My board has the Via KT133 chipset on board.
This board does support the 1.4 Athon with 200 FSB. That processor is hard to find a lot more $$ than Duron.

Your thoughts please.....

I don't see why not because its the exact same core.

Yes, that what I was thinking. Board has capability to multiply 13x. I think AMD didn't update website for higher frequency.
Duron's are pretty cheap so have I haven't got much to lose. I want to bump up from a 800 Athon to the 1.3 Duron. Should see noticable improvement.

I went from a duron 700 to 1300 and noticed a big difference. But i would be wary, although your board has all that it needs to support the chip from the soyo website http://www.soyousa.com/kb/kbdesc.php?id=16
it says that the board only supports 1ghz. So i would buy it only from somewhere you can return it if it doesnt work or email the soyo support and ask them direct as they may not have updated the site.

Athlons and durons do not have the same cores. Since your mobo says it supports the 1gig duron then it supports morgan cores. The 1.3 duron will do nicely. By the way, the morgan cores is the same as the mp cores.
