AMD XP1700+ through XP2000+ - Tech Support Forums

I am all ready to buy an XP2000+ because that is the fastest CPU I can afford to buy before prices start to go up a lot and I noticed someone mentioned that the XP2000+ doesn't overclock that well. Can anyone point me to some reviews that put some hard data out there so I can decide if I might be better off buying something else and then overclocking it?

The 2000+ is a good overclocker if you have hte new core, Thoroghbred version B. I'm pretty sure newegg.com has them in stock.

True - the rev B is a good overclocker. The rev A is not so much. I have a 1600+ Rev A - and it is no good... If you want that speed range...in terms of overclocking and longterm upgradability - the version B is the way to go. If you're worried about it - call newegg.com - they'd be happy to help you out over the phone so you know you're getting the right chip.
